Steve's arrival at Smoky Mountain the church was still a 'Church Plant'
receiving financial support from the area and averaging about 80 members. The
church as been financially independent for years, and currently Smoky Mountain

mowing grass! Ginger has also served in numerous capacities in church
work.church. She is known for her ability to teach the Bible. Having a heart
for children, she assisted a kindergarten teacher in the public school for
years until the teacher retired, at that point Ginger was asked to increase
her hours at her other part-time job assisting doctors in the medical field.
Before moving to Carmi, she worked in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg (Tennessee) Tourism

Greg Pelc Associate Minister |
Greg Pelc, Associate Minister Being born & raised in Pittsburgh, PA., Greg is naturally a HUGE Steelers fan. Yet, oddly, he is a HUGE Cubs fan. He has been happily married to wife Lynn since June 4, 1983.They have been blessed with 2 awesome offspring (they’re too old to be called ‘children’). Sarah is a junior in college and J.P. is a high school senior. Greg has a Bachelor of Science degree with a Preaching & Youth Ministry specialty and a major in Bible from Johnson Bible College. Plus, he has several college credit hours in the area of Christian Counseling. He was a Youth Minister for over 17 years (which explains many things) prior to joining our staff here at First Christian in May of 2001. You can find Greg riding his motorcycle, snow skiing, messing around out in the garage, or reading. He enjoys life & laughter... his mom still would like to see him become a comedian... and a good prank is never out of the question! His favorite Bible character is the Apostle John, because of the Disciple’s thoughts, insights, growth, and writings. |
