Children's Ministry Children at First Christian Church have many opportunities to dig into God's Word and have fun while doing it! Our children's ministry is led by Linda Carter, and staffed by many loving volunteers who care about the spiritual upbringing of Carmi's young minds. We offer the following opportunities for children ages 0 through grade school.... First Class: Sunday School for nursery aged children (0-2) at 9 am Sundays Sunday School: Grouped by ages from Pre-K, K-1st, 2nd-3rd, and 4th-5th at 9 am Sundays Nursery Services: Nursery services are provided during the 10 am Sunday worship service and 6 pm Sunday bible study for children ages 0-2; A special class is held in the nursery area during the 10 am worship service for children 3-5 years old First Place: Children's Worship for K-5th grade during the 10 am Sunday worship service; Children remain with their parents until after praise time and communion and are then dismissed to First Place Youth Groups: Grouped by ages from Pre-K, K-1st, 2nd-3rd, and 4th-5th at 6 pm Sundays during the school year Special summer events: Varies from zoo trips, to swimming parties, to excursions to Garden of the Gods, to service activities; held during the day VBS: Held each summer for one week. Evening activities include lessons, crafts, games, skits, etc. Children's Choir: Led by Holly Russell and Kara Kessler, they provide special music and programs throughout the year. The choir practices at 8:30 on Sunday mornings.
